Privacy Policy
Who we are
This is the website for Bar Lakeside (Buvette du Lac), a seasonal patio on Dow’s Lake in Ottawa, operated by 17762259 Canada Inc. (“we”, “us”). 17762259 Canada Inc. is the organization responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
What we collect
This site has no forms, accounts, or checkout — there’s nowhere on it to type in your name, email, or payment details. We do use privacy-preserving analytics (below) to see how many people visit and which pages they read.
Analytics
We use PostHog, a product analytics service, configured in cookieless mode. It does not set a cookie, does not write to your browser’s storage, and does not assign you a persistent ID. Instead, it counts unique visitors using a one-way hash of your IP address and browser information, recalculated with a new secret value every day, so no record ties a visit back to a person over time. This processing happens on servers located in the European Union.
Because this method doesn’t collect personal information in an identifiable form, your consent isn’t required to run it, and this site doesn’t show a cookie-consent banner.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of any kind.
Third parties
PostHog (described above) is the only third-party service this site loads. We don’t use advertising networks, social media pixels, or any other tracking tool. The video and images on this site are hosted directly by us, not embedded from YouTube, Vimeo, or similar.
If you follow a link from this site to Instagram, Dominion City Brewing Co.’s own website, or a maps/directions service, that service’s own privacy policy applies once you leave this site.
Hosting and cross-border processing
This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., a company based in the United States. When you visit, your request — including your IP address — passes through Vercel’s global content-delivery network so the page can be served to you. As a US-based provider, Vercel and the request data it handles may be subject to US law. Vercel acts as our hosting provider and does not use this information for its own purposes. (Our PostHog analytics, described above, are processed separately on servers in the European Union.)
If you contact us
If you email us or message us on social media, that message — and any information you include in it (name, email, whatever you write) — is handled under that platform’s own privacy policy and used only to reply to you. We don’t add it to a mailing list or share it with anyone else.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Quebec residents, the Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (“Law 25”), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, and withdraw any consent you’ve given. Because this site doesn’t collect identifiable personal information, we generally have nothing on file to show you — but you’re welcome to ask.
You can also file a complaint with:
- the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), for matters under PIPEDA; or
- Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information (cai.gouv.qc.ca), if you are a Quebec resident.
